AHEAD welcomes new board member
AHEAD Energy is pleased to welcome Andrew D. Grimm as the newest member of its Board of Directors. Andy was chosen by members of the Marietta Action Committee as their representative to the Board.
Andy is a mechanical and astronautical engineering with a keen interest in renewable energy technologies. He currently teaches at Marietta College where he is instrumental in developing the College’s new Energy Systems Engineering program. Previously he taught atWest Virginia University at Parkersburg and the University of Arizona, Tucson.
Andy’s teaching career followed a 20-year tenure in the US Airforce where he served as engineering manager for the development and manufacturing of strategic and tactical missiles, development and operations of satellites, and research in nuclear weapons effects. He retired as Lieutenant Colonel.
In 1966, Andy served as a Joint NASA/ASEE Research Fellowship at the Johnson Space Center in Texas. More recently, Andy and his wife Kate owned and operated Grimm’s Green Acres apple orchard and cider press in Marietta, Ohio.
Andy joins a distinguished group serving on the AHEAD Energy Directors: Ben Ebenhack (Chair), Dr. Karen Fields (Vice Chair), David Johnston (Secretary), Brian Ausburn (Treasurer), Bob Bechtold, Adam Costanza, and Russ McDonald, Dr. Sherrill Cleland (Emeritus), and Dr. Gama Perruci (Ex-officio).
